Some of the most overused words by my generation are:
Like
Random
Facebook
Insane (and all synonyms)
People nowadays enjoy hyperbole. I can't think of any more right now because I am watching the opera Boris Godunov on my computer right now. In Russian. I am at about 2 hours right now, out of three and a half. It's pretty close to unbearable, so I've resorted to multi-tasking. Could somebody teach me how to enjoy opera, please? My ears hurt.

I LOVE opera. Yes, I'll teach you how to love it, too. I'm not familiar with that particular opera, however. I'll have to check into that.
Will you teach me how to get Cyrillic letters on my computer? That's so cool.
this was an assignment, so you had to finish the whole thing? :o
your randomness here is fun to read. one never knows what will come up as a topic on Sally's blog. :D
You forgot "ridiculous."
I can see how it would be difficult to like Russian opera. However, I have had the randombr/>> opportunity in the past year to video two operas at OU. One was a Mozart, and--while I still wasn't insane about it--I found it to be fairly enjoyable.
...facebook.
I was obviously watching an opera or I wouldn't have used "right now" three times in two sentences. oy.
я тебя пишу по русскыи! крута. оченъ крута. спасибо.
I find the excessive use of vibrato among opera singers to be both the most characteristic aspect of the genre, and also at times the most annoying.
BUT, I like The Mikado (see below). At one point in the opera, one of the main characters disguises himself as a 2nd chair trombone player. Pretty good. Certainly better than your crap Russian one.

excessive vibrato... managgia. The thing to realise about opera, or good opera, is that it's about passion. The reason they sing that way is that Western vocal technique is designed to communicate as much passion as the human voice can carry without breaking like a twig. Pop singers, of course, can have plenty of passion, but when you get right down to it their only real option to convey it is screaming, a la Deep Purple or Bon Jovi. Opera is the same idea, just healthier and with more variety.
