on life as usual

The title of the post was inspired by Becky's post. Sometimes the mundanity of life is just fine. Today I am going for the list post.
  • I really like Pandora. Last month I found out that there is a monthly listening limit when I hit 40 hours and had to wait a week before I could listen again. I have been on the Sufjan Stevens station for a few weeks now. I like him a lot. I've come a long way from my first blog post ever. Oddly enough a Simon&Garfunkel song has come on a couple times in the last day or two, and I would not have thought the two are similar at all.
  • Fall has come to Norman. I think I like it, though the weather is still kind of inconsistent. I like the feeling and concept of sheltering myself from something much bigger than I am by being inside, wearing more clothes, and moving quickly. I think that fall makes people think about family and home and comfort. My roommate gave me a pumpkin spice candle and it, as of today, represents the season for me. Spices, scarves, tea, and my converse every day. I can't wait for the leaves to turn.
  • Apparently I like linking today.
  • I am really thankful for Skype.
  • I wish that my parents had a better computer.
  • Finally I am feeling like I am settled into the semester. Classes, roommates, church in the evening, not working on my independent study (who really wants to read or write about orientalism in Russian authors' writing about the Caucasus, anyway...), talking with people at Plaid, and not planning for next year. Hm. So maybe my settling in is really just a pattern of consistent avoidance. That's not the greatest.
  • My friends got married! A beautiful, outdoor, sunset wedding with fireworks as they walked back down the aisle. Wonderful.
  • I have decided not to go to the OU/Texas game. I am going to sell my ticket and hopefully make $200 off it. I hope that I don't regret my decision, but I don't think that I will.
  • I really like this picture of my brother and sister. I feel like it represents their relationship well, and they are just so incredibly sweet and cute. I miss them a lot and am looking forward to hopefully seeing them in not too much over two months!

I loved this post. There was so much random information about your life. Perfect.
Missing your converse shoes.
