scenes from L'viv

I am back.

Here are some pictures from around L'viv. I feel like since I didn't post anything all summer, maybe you want to see some pictures now. Better late than never?
[Greek Catholic cathedral]
[Dominican]
[inside the Dominican]
[Bohieme (sp?) chapel]
[some other kind]
[street musicians]
[opera house]
[at night from the top floor of a nearby building]
[reflected in sunglasses]

More later, maybe. If you want them. They kind of take a while to choose and upload, so only by popular demand. Or should I just post on facebook? Are photos on blogger already passe? Discuss.

still moving

It's 1:15 am in Southwestern Russia. In a few hours I leave here and start my four-day journey back to Norman, OK.

In keeping with tradition, I am posting about my travels - when I am leaving, how long it will take me to get there, etc. This trip is all set to involve, consecutively: bus, train, metro, bus, train, car, three planes, car. That is N-chik -> 5gorsk -> Kiev -> Irpen -> L'viv -> Munich -> Chicago -> OKC -> Norman.

In keeping with my prediction, I had little time online this summer and didn't post on my blog. I'm sure no one suffered any negative side effects, but I wanted to say that at some point in the next part of my lifetime I will get back on here and write something about my time in Ukraine. Maybe post a few of my hundreds of photos.

For now I will say that my summer was really really good. I learned a lot, made new friends, found another country to love, and had a lot of fun. God is at work in my life and in Ukraine. My time here in the motherland with the family was great as well. We went to Mount Elbrus, the tallest mountain in Europe. Just a couple hours away by car. Now I am headed for another home, Oklahoma. School starts in a week.

Thanks for tuning in. More next time.
